IoT Product Engineer
Location: Dublin (Hybrid – minimum 3 days a week in office)

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
We are looking for an experienced IoT Product Engineer to lead the productization of our IoT devices and liaise between our engineering teams in Europe (Dublin / Gdansk) and our manufacturing facilities overseas. This role is critical in ensuring a smooth transition from design to production for IoT products, balancing customer requirements, engineering specifications and factory capabilities.
The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator, capable of working closely with customers, our engineering, operations and manufacturing teams to ensure the delivered goods meet the customer needs and specifications. This role requires up to 10% travel.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage user requirements and product cost estimates.
- Liaise with product owner to drive product definition and optimizations.
- Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting in relation to overall product.
- Contribute to Engineering team with feasibility study, and prototype testing.
- Support Mechanical / Electrical product integration during design phases.
- Assist with product certification process.
- Manage and coordinate system level requirements.
- Facilitate smooth transfer of engineering designs to manufacturing team.
- Coordinate System BOM updates and versioning from design phase to production release.
- Collaborate on end-of-line product validation and the design of assembly and test fixture requirements.
- Liaise between Engineering and Manufacturing teams.
- Support engineering team for EVT/DVT/PVT System BOMs & Initial Pilot Builds.
- Assist with manufacturing issues and improvements related to system level specifications
- Take ownership of IOT products delivery and handover to manufacturing teams
- Develop comprehensive box-build process flows, assembly guides, and test procedures.
- Assist with the development of Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) processes.
- Support Product Lifecycle Management process implementation with engineering team.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Excellent communication skills, capable of managing relationships with factory teams, internal engineers, and clients.
- Strong experience in product applications, electronics or manufacturing engineering, ideally in the IoT or electronics sector.
- Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations and EMS factories, ensuring smooth manufacturing transitions.
- Problem-Solving skills and ability to think out of the box to ensure smooth merge between electrical, mechanical and software development.
- Experience operating in a regulated environment with knowledge of industry compliance standards (ISO 9001, ISO 13485, IPC, RoHS, REACH, CE, FCC, or similar).
- Experience with continuous control of product manufacturing cost and supply-chain collaboration during design phases.
- Experience with PCB assembly (SMT/THT), production test processes, and quality control methodologies.
- Experience with embedded wireless systems is advantageous.
- Experience in bringing to market Industrial, Medical or Automotive products is advantageous.
- Experience with defining manufacturing test plans and working with SMD test systems included Bed-of-Nails and functional test beds is advantageous
- Willingness to travel to our EMS sites when required.
