Your Experts for Connected Transport

All roads, rivers, and rails lead to the internet of things (IoT). When trucks, cars, boats, buses, and trains are equipped with the ability to interact with one another and the environment around them, it enables a wide variety of benefits for businesses, cities, and people:

These benefits are why cities, fleet owners, logistics providers, automakers, and others are investing in IoT technologies such as cellular vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure (CV2X) systems, which maximize safety and efficiency today while laying the foundation for tomorrow’s fully autonomous vehicles. IoT also enables real-time tracking of rail cars, shipping containers, and trucks — not only their location, but also the condition of their cargo every step of the way. Those insights are key for businesses in the era of just-in-time manufacturing.

But to capitalize on V2X and other connected transportation market opportunities, automakers, device manufacturers, systems integrators, and other companies need a trusted expert to help them navigate all the technologies. That includes selecting technologies that are right not just for today’s applications, but also provide the flexibility and future proofing that are key for a sector where mobile assets typically remain in service for a decade or more.

Connectivity Solutions

Connected Transport To Where It's Needed

Connected transport uses a variety of technologies to collect and share information about the location and status of vehicles. One example is combining cellular with GPS to pinpoint the location of a bus so passengers at the next stop know exactly when it will arrive. Another example is using those technologies to continually monitor the temperature inside a refrigerated shipping container of seafood as it travels from ship to truck to rail and back to truck as it crosses the world.

Smart cities are using connected transport to address longstanding problems such as drivers circling the block looking for a parking spot — creating pollution and traffic jams in the process. Connected transport also enables autonomous vehicles to download the HD maps required to safely navigate highways and side streets.

GNSS

GNSS technologies such as GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo enable IoT devices to determine their precise geographical coordinates so they can be tracked anywhere on Earth in real time. This information is invaluable for asset tracking, fleet management, logistics, and location-based services. GNSS technology also enhances safety and security by enabling geofencing and geolocation of devices, allowing for remote monitoring and alerts. GNSS gives smart cities, trucking companies, railroads, and other businesses the accurate and reliable location data they need to maximize efficiency, productivity, safety, and customer satisfaction.

GNSS Corrections Service

Real-time or post-processed correction services address various error sources, such as atmospheric interference and satellite clock inaccuracies, that can undermine the precision of GNSS measurements. Real-time correction services often are delivered through a network of ground-based reference stations and provide sub-meter to centimeter-level accuracy, which are crucial for applications like autonomous vehicles, precision agriculture, drone delivery, and surveying. Post-processed correction services use historical data to refine GNSS measurements, delivering even higher levels of accuracy. Overall, GNSS correction services are indispensable for achieving reliable and precise positioning in a wide range of industries and applications.

Cellular Vehicle to Everything

CV2X enables vehicles to exchange information with everything around them, including other vehicles (V2V), roadside infrastructure (V2I), pedestrians (V2P), and the broader network (V2N). It relies on cellular networks and dedicated short-range communication (DSRC) to enable vehicles to transmit and receive data, enhancing safety, traffic management, and the overall efficiency of transportation systems. CV2X is a key component of connected and autonomous vehicles, facilitating real-time communication for improved road safety and traffic flow. TxWireless can provide the hardware, firmware, advisory services, and engineering necessary to help you choose the right multi-radio technology for your specific use case.

Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)

BLE is ideal for vehicle connectivity, asset tracking, traffic management, and other applications where low power consumption is a top requirement, such as battery-powered sensors that must remain in service for a decade or longer. TxWireless' state-of-the-art BLE technology enhances operational efficiency, reduces costs, optimizes safety, and more.

Machine Vision

Machine vision uses artificial intelligence (AI) to enable vehicles to see and analyze the environment around them, such as identifying pedestrians and cyclists to avoid accidents. Other common examples include autonomous vehicles using machine vision to read street and traffic signs, and trackside infrastructure detecting rail cars with open doors or shifted cargo. TxWireless has the proven expertise in on-board imaging sensors and Vision Processing Units (VPU) that enables our customers to seamlessly integrate machine vision into their connected transport product portfolios — quickly, reliably, and cost effectively.

Cloud Services

Cloud services implemented on AWS and Azure platforms provide a centralized, secure, cost-effective, and highly scalable way to ingest, store, access, and analyze the data generated by connected vehicles, rail cars, construction equipment, and other mobile assets. The cloud enables business benefits such as predictive maintenance, route optimization, real-time decision-making, and remote device management.
