Mid Embedded Hardware Engineer
Location: Gdańsk, Poland (Hybrid – minimum 4 days a week in office)

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
Contribute to the design, development, and delivery of reliable embedded hardware for IoT products across industrial, transportation, and connected health markets. Execute hardware tasks with technical ownership, support cross‑functional integration, and continuously improve product quality, manufacturability, and performance to ensure successful and timely delivery of product
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and verification of embedded hardware for IoT products.
- Support EVT, DVT, and PVT builds, including board bring up and verification plan execution.
- Maintain PLM data, update BOMs, and prepare manufacturing documentation.
- Support NPI activities and transfer of designs into production.
- Contribute to failure analysis for production and field issues, driving corrective actions.
- Execute tasks independently, identify risks early, and meet project schedules.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with embedded software, RF, mechanical, PM, Validation, and Customer teams.
- Proactive technical collaboration with senior level engineers
- Engage with customer engineering teams to ensure correct system integration.
- Support PMO/PM with manufacturing readiness, cost control, and schedule alignment.
- Proactively communicates risks, technical dependencies, and design impacts.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to system‑level technical decisions.
- Support customers during debugging, requirement clarification, and design updates.
- Assist with regulatory and certification activities in cooperation with third‑party labs.
- Proactively collaborates with senior engineers to refine designs, resolve issues, and accelerate technical decision-making.
Technical Execution
- Design embedded hardware including component selection, schematics, and PCB layout guidance.
- Manage PCB Manufacturing Transfer Packages (MTP) such as Gerbers, BOMs, assembly files.
- Support hardware development for production test systems and end of line (EOL) fixtures.
- Perform board bring up, debugging, and characterization throughout the development lifecycle.
- Use lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, VNAs, spectrum analyzers, power supplies
- Hands on debugging using lab equipment.
- Support validation and production teams with failure analysis and field issue investigations.
- Ensure DFM/DFT readiness and alignment with factory test requirements.
- Maintain accurate design, test, and manufacturing documentation in line with ISO 9001 and internal procedures.

- EDA: Altium Designer (preferred)
- Simulation: SPICE, power/thermal simulation tools
- Lab: Oscilloscopes, VNA, spectrum analyser, logic analyser, soldering equipment
- PM/Admin: Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Teams
- PLM & Version Control: Arena, Git (GitHub)
- Mechanical Collaboration: Fusion
Ownership and Responsibilities
- Plans and execute tasks independently, identifying risks early and delivering on schedule.
- Owns complete PCB designs or major hardware subsystems within the product.
- Drives continuous improvement in hardware quality, reliability, and manufacturability.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Education & Experience
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Embedded Systems, or equivalent.
- 3 – 5 years of experience in embedded hardware design, preferably in IoT, consumer electronics, or industrial systems.
Technical Expertise
- Strong schematic and PCB design experience.
- Solid understanding of embedded electronics: DC/DC converters, ICs, low power design.
- Experience using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, VNAs, logic analyzers, power/energy meters).
- Understanding of RF considerations: antenna integration, matching networks, layout constraints.
- Experience with DFM/DFT, manufacturing interfaces, and NPI/production processes.
- Knowledge of EMC/ESD design principles and exposure to certification processes (FCC, CE, RED).
- Ability to diagnose complex hardware/software interaction issues.
